Which is the most frequently European language spoken in Africa, English or French?

France and Britain had a long stay in Africa through colonization. A major influence they left behind is language. Mostly, African states bequeathed their original cultures (language & religion). This trend has remained with African states. Between English and French, which language is widely spoken in Africa?
