Many tribes which were known (from history) as minorities (sub-ethnicities) are trending for their disassociation from their earlier considered majorities (ethnicity). Nigeria has been known to have three major ethnic groups (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba) while having other minority ethnic groups making up the whole 250+ ethnic groups in Nigeria. For what reasons are these sub-ethnicities (Ijaw, Tivi, Ibibio, Nupe, Kado, Banza) assuming independence from their majorities? How is the trend influencing socialization in Nigeria.
Is social conflict among major and minor tribes in Nigeria affecting national co-existence?
