As at today, the current military regime in Niger has banned the export of Gold to the United States of America (USA).

In another development, Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Burkina Faso has BANNED Uranium exports to France and the United States.

I think it is a good thing that Africa is taking their future into their hands. Though the means may be wrong let the end justify it.

    • That you have no criminal record or immigration violations.
    • That you have a Letter of Acceptance from a Canadian-designated learning institute.
    • That you have proof of funds for your first year’s tuition plus CAD 10,000 living expenses.
    • That your Canadian education will improve your employment opportunities in your home country.
    • That the program of study you have enrolled in makes sense with any post-secondary education you already have.
    •  That you have family and community ties which is enough to prove you will go home when your studies are complete.

It is not accurate to say that Western leaders are opposed to a united Africa. While there may be some individuals or groups who hold such a view, it is important to note that Western countries have supported various initiatives aimed at promoting unity and cooperation among African nations.

Historically, Western powers have played a significant role in the fragmentation of Africa through colonialism and the drawing of artificial borders that did not reflect the traditional ethnic and cultural divisions on the continent. However, since the wave of decolonization in the mid-20th century, many Western countries have provided support for regional integration efforts, such as the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), among others.

Moreover, Western countries have provided aid and support to African countries to help them address common challenges such as poverty, disease, conflict, and underdevelopment. Many of these efforts are aimed at promoting stability and economic growth, which are seen as essential for the long-term prosperity and security of both Africa and the wider world.

That being said, it is important to recognize that some Western countries may have their interests and priorities when it comes to relationships with African countries. These interests may not always align with the goals of African leaders or the general population. African countries need to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration with all partners, including Western countries, to advance their interests and promote regional cooperation and integration.

Politicians and political parties in Nigeria are open chambers, they accept members and become members of any political organization that can help them achieve their aims of becoming richer and more powerful.

Politics in Nigeria is neither left nor right.

No, South Africa is not an ally of Russia in the war with Ukraine. South Africa has maintained a neutral stance on the conflict in Ukraine and has not taken any side. The South African government has called for an end to the violence and for a peaceful resolution to the conflict through diplomatic means.

While South Africa has had a historically cordial relationship with Russia, the country has also maintained strong diplomatic ties with the United States and its European allies. South Africa is a member of the BRICS group of emerging economies, which also includes Russia, but this does not mean that South Africa is aligned with Russia’s foreign policy positions on all issues.

In fact, South Africa has expressed concern over the situation in Ukraine and has called for respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. In 2018, South Africa voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution that affirmed the territorial integrity of Ukraine and called for the withdrawal of foreign military forces from the country.

Nigeria has a large agricultural sector that provides employment for millions of people and contributes significantly to the country’s economy. However, the sector has been facing several challenges, including low productivity, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to credit, and insufficient technology adoption. To improve the agricultural sector in Nigeria, the new government could consider adopting some of the following agricultural reforms that have been successful in developed countries:

    1. Development of Agricultural Infrastructure: Developed countries have invested heavily in agricultural infrastructure, including irrigation systems, rural roads, and storage facilities, to support agricultural production and improve market access for farmers. The Nigerian government could prioritize investments in these areas to improve the productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural sector.

    2. Promotion of Agricultural Technology Adoption: Developed countries have also invested in research and development to develop new agricultural technologies and promote their adoption by farmers. The Nigerian government could invest in research and development to develop new agricultural technologies that are tailored to the local context and promote their adoption by farmers through training and extension services.

    3. Access to Finance and Credit: Developed countries have established robust agricultural finance systems that provide farmers with access to credit and other financial services. The Nigerian government could work with financial institutions to develop agricultural finance programs that provide farmers with affordable credit and other financial services.

    4. Promotion of Agricultural Value Chains: Developed countries have developed agricultural value chains that link farmers to processors, distributors, and retailers, creating opportunities for farmers to increase their income. The Nigerian government could work with private sector actors to develop agricultural value chains that link smallholder farmers to markets and create opportunities for value addition.

    5. Agricultural Policy Reforms: Developed countries have developed agricultural policies that support the growth and development of the sector, including policies that promote market-oriented agriculture, trade liberalization, and environmental sustainability. The Nigerian government could review and revise existing agricultural policies to promote a more market-oriented and sustainable agricultural sector.

Overall, the Nigerian government could adopt a combination of these agricultural reforms to improve the productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability of the agricultural sector in the country.

I don’t think an increase in workers’ wages is a smart response to addressing the surge in the price of petrol leading to economic threats in Nigeria. If inflation is caused by so much money in circulation, it simply means that with the influx of cash into the system through an increase in wages, there’s bound to be an increase in the inflation rate. It’s a good suggestion for the Tinubu administration to tackle the price of petrol or better said, stabilize it. Should there be a fixed price by the government, it won’t be easy for marketers to set prices that will be detrimental to the economy.
